Training for Professionals

Program Overview

The Applied Data and AI Fluency Program for Professionals offers a practical learning experience designed to build strong analytical and critical thinking, data fluency, and AI readiness across all sectors. Offered as a course or workshop (In-person or Online), these programs help individuals and teams interpret information accurately, question insights thoughtfully, communicate with clarity, and use AI responsibly in everyday work. The learning journey begins with foundational data concepts and steadily builds toward more advanced analytical, communication, and AI skills with no technical background required.

Available Formats

Offered as a course or workshop (In-person or Online), both formats use the same core fluency framework and reinforce learning through real-world examples, hands-on activities, and practical tools.

Self-Paced and Synchronous Online and In-Person Course

A structured course that allows learners to progress through the fluency model step by step.

Instructor-Led Workshop

A collaborative, interactive learning experience incorporating discussions, applied exercises, and group projects.

What the Program Covers

  • Participants learn the types of data used across modern organizations, including qualitative vs. quantitative, structured vs. unstructured, Big Data, IoT, and GIS, and understand how data flows through systems, why data governance matters, and how quality shapes trustworthy insights.

  • Learners explore descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, strengthening their ability to interpret insights and collaborate with analytics, BI, and technical teams.

  • Professionals develop the ability to interpret averages, trends, variability, distributions, and visualizations such as dashboards, charts, scatterplots, and geospatial visuals. They learn to recognize misleading visuals, missing context, and incomplete data.

  • Participants practice identifying assumptions, gaps, bias, and inconsistencies; assessing whether data is decision-ready; and validating insights using structured analytical questioning.

  • Learners explore how to translate analysis into concise, actionable insights, craft compelling data stories, and communicate recommendations clearly to stakeholders.

  • The program demystifies artificial intelligence and machine learning. Participants learn:

    • How AI systems learn from data

    • Where AI appears in workplace tools and platforms

    • Strengths, limitations, and appropriate use cases

    • Principles of ethical, responsible AI use

    • How to evaluate AI-generated recommendations

    • Practical use of generative AI to support workflows

Workshop Experience

For participants joining the instructor-led workshop, learning is reinforced through:

  • Icebreaker activity: Reflecting on personal interactions with data

  • Scenario-based group activity: Strengthening analytical thinking

  • Final group project: Applying the full fluency framework to a realistic challenge and presenting recommendations

These activities help professionals build confidence, deepen their skills, and apply concepts to their own organizational contexts.
